RSS stands for really simple syndication. Normally when you wish to see if a web site has been updated you have to actually visit that site, checking a lot of site takes a lot of time. If you use an RSS reader or aggregator as they are more correctly known, you visit a site once and click on the RSS button to subscribe to that web sites ‘feed. Then whenever you connect to the internet, your aggregator automatically checks the feed from the sites you are ‘subscribed’ to and holds details of any changes or new items.
All you need to do is start up your aggregator and it will display all of the new items from all of the feeds you have added. If you have 50 web site feeds, you can check on the updates of 50 web sites within a few minutes, much easier and quicker than manually checking each one.
